Welcome to Top 5 Tech, my weekly show about what to watch, listen to, read, download, and something

deep every week. It seems to be becoming an annual occurrence, but MKBHD says yes to every email that

comes to him from different products around the tech world, and it's always a fun video. He's

very funny throughout it. He also gets to test fun things like this Benny robot that can do flips.

He apparently goes up to 18 miles an hour. Yes, he also talks about a smart toilet seat and a

Garmin fitness tracker, and he legitimately gives a rating for all of these wild products that he

comes across throughout the year.

So, yes, highly recommend.

It's really entertaining.

But you might also see a couple of products that interest you.

Maybe not the toilet seat, but some of the other stuff.

I want to listen to Avengers Doomsday is all in the news.

It's coming out this December.

But there was an exclusive interview with Robert Downey Jr.

and Joe Russo talking about Infinity War and just the Marvel Universe in general.

I love all the Marvel stuff.

I'm looking forward to Avengers Doomsday.

I hope it's good.

We'll see.

But hearing how passionate Robert Downey Jr.

really is about these movies,

what was improv, especially during Infinity War,

like the scene on the spaceship with Doctor Strange, Iron Man,

and the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Really fun to hear a lot of that behind-the-scenes stuff.

But also just hearing Robert Downey Jr.'s passion for the MCU in general,

the energy and time that he's poured into the movies that he has made,

and his love of other Marvel properties like WandaVision.

It's just a really fun interview.

So, highly recommend.

On what to read, we talk about AI a lot on primary technology.

It's big in the news.

Well, Bill Gates, formerly of Microsoft,

had a rather long essay talking about AI,

how we are in a turbulent moment,

that we need to put some safeguards in place,

and he has some thoughts about what we should do in relation to jobs,

preserving some things for humans to do,

where we need to put the limits on AI.

And it is an interesting piece.

And someone like Bill Gates,

who might have genuine concerns about AI

and has thoughts about what could be done,

I'm curious about what he has to say.

It's, you know, a pretty long piece, several thousand words, but it's an interesting take hearing his thoughts on AI in general.

Recommend that as a read.

Now, on what to download, I have a couple of wild picks that won't be applicable to everyone.

But if you were a kid of the 90s and early 2000s like me, GoldenEye on N64 was very, it's a huge part of my formative years.

And someone, Chris Otreitus, actually created a native build of GoldenEye 007 for iOS and iPad for the first time.

Open sourcing it.

He has a link to his GitHub in this post.

You have to have a ROM of GoldenEye sign the IPA with your Apple ID.

If you want to go through all of that, which is not a huge amount of steps, but you can actually run GoldenEye natively on iOS and iPad for the first time, which is wild to me.

So that's very exciting.

You could try that for free.

Or if you have an Apple Vision Pro, this person on Reddit actually created Super Mario 64 in VR.

And so you can play Mario 64

if you have an Apple Vision Pro

and a PSVR2 controller,

which I know is a lot of things to have

and most people probably don't,

but also very exciting.

I'm going to, once I get some time,

probably figure out how to do that

and try it out.

But a legitimate thing to download

that's actually free.

And finally, on something deep, there's apparently a cancer vaccine-ish.

This is Moderna and Merck actually announced that they've somehow developed a vaccine for

skin cancer.

And if there's one person I want to hear talking about this, it's Hank Green.

One, Hank Green is writing a book on cancer.

If you didn't know, Hank Green actually went through lymphoma and he had to go through chemotherapy

and all of that.

And he's now on the other side in remission.

But he's very knowledgeable

about cancer.

He's writing an entire book on it.

So he has just a lot of research

in his brain recently.

And so hearing him talk

about this vaccine,

what it means,

the ramifications,

you know, Moderna stock,

you know, jumped up

on this announcement

and still several years away

from it being maybe widespread

or even usable.

But if you want to hear

someone explain

what the actual ramifications

of this quote unquote

cancer vaccine is,

I think Hank's video

is the one to watch.
